Dr Peter Tran studied dentistry at The University of Queensland and was awarded the University Medal for clinical and academic excellence. He spent his early career working in both government and private clinics on the Sunshine Coast where he developed a keen interest in craniofacial growth and development. He returned to Melbourne to complete his specialist doctorate training in Orthodontics at The University of Melbourne where he investigated the innovative 'Surgery First' approach for dentofacial deformities.
Peter is a registered specialist orthodontist and holds professional membership and appointments with the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, Australian Dental Association, Australian Society of Orthodontists. He is also certified with the Australasian Orthodontic Board.
Peter has a passion for transforming beautiful smiles and loves watching his patients flourish with their newfound confidence.
Peter continues to be at the forefront of orthodontic care and has presented his clinical and research work at many highly regarded international conferences such as the American Association of Orthodontists and the European Society of Orthodontists meetings.
In 2020, he was awarded Align Technology's Asia-Pacific 'Excellence in Aesthetics' for the use the Invisalign appliance.
When he is not in the clinic transforming smiles, Peter loves spending quality time with his wife, two young children and his puppy Archie “Archform”. He can often be found enjoying Melbourne’s numerous beautiful gardens, trying different cuisines and working off his culinary indulgences at his crossfit gym.
Peter is proud to be able to collaborate with esteemed clinicians as part of an interdisciplinary specialist dental service in Box Hill. He is passionate about providing quality healthcare services to the vibrant community.
Peter and his family continue to be active community members and volunteers his time to multiple charitable organisations. Peter is proud to be a Give a Smile™ orthodontist and also consults from his rooms in Springvale.
